Location: Kearney High School – 3610 6th Avenue, Kearney, Nebraska 68845. Varsity in South Gym & JV/9th in North Gym.

Parking: Parking is available in the lot south of the school. Buses should park at the very bottom of the hill at the southernmost part of the parking lot.
Entrances: Spectators may enter the main doors on the south side of the high school.
Admission: $6 Adults, $4 Students (with ID). Ticket sales will begin 60 minutes before the first match.
Team Information: Varsity Weigh-Ins at 8:00 a.m. in Wrestling Room. JV/9th will have Home Weigh-Ins. Scales open at 7:00 a.m. Only individual pre-match warm-ups allowed on main floor mats.
Athletic Training: A Certified Athletic Trainer will be on-site all day.
Trackcast: New this year, we will be using Trackcast by Trackwrestling to web cast the Varsity tournament free of charge!
Concessions: Concessions, operated by student groups from Kearney High School, will open 30 minutes before the start of the morning rounds. Coolers will not be allowed in the gyms or locker rooms.
Schedule of Events: Except for the first round all other times are approximate. We will run the tournament
continuously with only short breaks as needed.
10:00 a.m. Varsity Wrestling Begins.
Short breaks may be assigned to allow for a 45-minute recovery. Double elimination tourney – 3-match minimum – 5 matches maximum.
Awards: Plaques: First two teams Medals: First four places.
Outstanding Wrestler Medal: Each coach and official will have a vote.
Video: Video taping by competing schools will be done from the platforms on the west side of the gym: Teams must bring their own extension cord.
Weather: In case of inclement weather, the Tournament Director will notify the schools in the tournament and inform them of the revised schedule.
JV & 9TH WILL BE TWO SEPARATE TOURNAMENTS.
Wrestlers will be grouped as close as possible using exact weight, with 4 wrestlers at
each weight when possible. Each wrestler will wrestle the other 3 in his weight, using lined pairing in a round robin fashion. Every attempt will be made to get each wrestler 3 matches with wrestlers from other schools, however, it may be necessary to pair same schools in some weights. Match length will be determined based upon total number of entries.
Trackwrestling 9th & JV: We are using Track Wrestling again this year for the JV/9th tournament. There are a few new things we are going to do with this format. We are going to use separation criteria (rankings) for the JV division only. Please rank your JV wrestlers 1 through 3, one being a good wrestler, two being average, and three being a beginner. We will do our best to use this to get the best matches possible, although we will put priority on separating teams first and building full brackets. We will not be using separation criteria for the freshmen division, so please rank all your freshmen wrestling in the freshmen division as a 3. If you have a freshmen that you want to wrestle in the JV division please make sure you place them in that division and then rank them accordingly.
